Rabat, capital city of the kingdom of Morocco
Rabat is the capital of Morocco’s kingfom with a population of 1.7 million as estimated in 2007, Rabat is also the capital of the region of Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer. Rabat, is an important geographic center in the heart of Morocco, situated in the Atlantic Ocean on the banks of the Bou Regreg river with the major industrial facilities such as food processing, textiles, and various construction companies and international corporations.
Rabat is the administrative capital of Morocco, home to major embassies and consulates, Rabat is the second major city in Morocco after Casablanca, the Moroccan city, 60 kilometers away under the intense blue sky and sea, situated within the protection of ocher-colored walls, a city that shines white and with a viewpoint that seems to reach the clouds, this is Rabat, the Moroccan capital. The history of Rabat as capital city is located from the twelfth century, when Yacoub El-Mansour, the great Almohad conqueror chose it as a symbol of its splendor.
But the story became what it is today Rabat, Marinades the centuries XIII and XIV, which honored the city in the necropolis of Chellah, from the ruins of the ancient Roman town of Sale, a story which was sealed in Rabat and Rabat honors its history. The visitor does nothing more than feel exciting to imagine the life of the pirates while savoring a Moorish coffee, savoring gazelle horns, Morocco cake with a mint tea and watching the boats on the Bou Regreg river.
The King Mohammed V’s mausoleum of is plentry of luxury and traditional Moroccan sofisticated art with a golden of mahogany dome and cedar of Lebanon and the actual sarcophagus’s by white Pakistani onyx. The Chellah necropolis is located on the site of the ancient city of Sale, 2 km from the center of the city. Upon entering, we found a place that transcends all magination for its lush vegetation. There are different tombs and a stone bowl with fish and turtles sacred, fed by a miraculous fountain, where according to legend, a golden fish lived. Later, a site with colorful decoration is occupied by the storks.
